East Texas Christian Leaders Conference

The East Texas Christian Leader's Conference will be Saturday, August 29 at Denman Avenue Baptist Church. The keynote speaker for this year’s conference will be Dr. John Morgan ( pastor at Sagemont Church in Houston. Mark your calendars for August 29 for this great conference. Senior Adult Ministry (SAM) Events:


Congratulations to the winners of the UBA SAM Game Day/42 Tournament. They are John and Carolyn Guidry, Calvary BC, Lufkin. Second place winners Carl Fann and Myron Byrd of FBC, Zavalla.

Time: 6:00 PM (Doors will open at 5:30 PM for coffee and fellowship)

Place: Calvary Baptist Church, (corner of Montrose and Kerr in Lufkin)

Cost: $15/plate (also covers entertainment)

Menu: Smoked brisket and sides, peach cobbler and ice cream.

Annual Meeting:

The UBA Annual Meeting will be held Monday, October 19, at Grace Baptist Church north of Lufkin.  Dinner will be served from 5:00 p.m. until 6:15 p.m. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. Gene Hazell, pastor at Fairview Baptist Church, will preach the annual sermon. During dinner you will be able to visit ministry/information booths.

Don’t forget to elect your messengers. Although everyone is invited to the Annual Meeting, only registered messengers are eligible to vote. As a reminder, the constitution states: “Each local church shall be entitled to one messenger for every 50 resident members or major part thereof. Each local church shall be entitled to a minimum of two messengers and a maximum of 20 messengers.”
